Unity in Vision, is proud to launch a new community initiative for Dorset from September, ‘The Unity International Lunches’ beginning in Boscombe. They are targeted at young and old alike to share together each other’s cultural interests and enthusiasm over a culturally themed lunch to spark the conversation of the wonders of Dorset’s community diversity.
Based at the Friends Meeting House in Boscombe, the Unity International Lunches will take place monthly and provide a space to meet new people from all walks of life, whilst enjoying food from around the world, reflective of our cultures within our community.
A special launch event will be on the 6th September for invited guests to celebrate the fantastic diversity of Bournemouth and launch of this community initiative. The Unity International Lunches will then continue monthly in Boscombe from October.
Unity in Vision, together with the expertise of The Friendly Food Club, are looking to local residents and people new to the area to join them at these unique and fun lunches. Opportunities for ethnic/traditional meal preparation and training can also be highlighted at the lunches for those wishing to reproduce the experience at home.
Rita El-Gazali, Chair of Unity in Vision, commented “The International lunches are a fantastic way to meet people from different cultures who live locally. To come eat, relax and network while sharing their cultures. We want to aid the integration of all our many ethnic groups in Boscombe with residents and celebrate our wonderful diversity”.
Unity International Lunches hosts a monthly ‘international lunch’ featuring foods from different countries with an aim of integrating ethnic groups in Boscombe.
